Eagles: 25       Chiefs: 6

Midgets Game #4

Arlington VS Yutan

Arlington's Midget Eagles(3-0)  clobbered Yutan's Chieftains Sunday
afternoon at Arlington High School's football field with a 25 to 6 victory.

An action packed first quarter began with a Yutan kick off and on the
very next play Arlington's Seth Pearson ran 69 yards for an Eagle touchdown.   A pitch by Adam Hamre to Pearson brought in the extra point and it was 7 - 0 Arlington in the first minute of the game.

The Chieftains drove into an Eagle wall built by Taylor Escamilla, Alvin
Voss, Doug Hilzendegger and Nathan Hilgenkamp.  A desperate Yutan was forced to throw away the ball as Thomas Grove
ran down their quarterback and it was the Eagle's ball again on the
Chieftains 30 yard line.

Arlington's drive was quickly salvaged when a dropped ball was deftly
recovered and run for a gain by Bruce Mastin.  On the next play an agile Seth Pearson ran for another touchdown and although the
extra point attempt was blocked, it is the Eagle's game at 13 - 0
Arlington.  The Chieftain's drive failed again thanks to the awesome Eagles defense and severe pressure by guys like Jordan Johnson,

Beau Brown and Marshall Hoffman, but in desperation Yutan faked a  punt and managed a first down. Bolstered by this ploy the Chieftains scored with their next run, but the extra point attempt was
stopped and the Arlington defense would not let Yutan score again.

The Eagles next drive fell short and Yutan took possession, but
Arlington's crushing defensive pressure by Chase Kratochvil, Bruce Mastin and Thomas Grove forced a pass which was intercepted
by Joseph Hansen at the Chieftain's 35 yard line.  Eagle's Quarterback
Adam Hamre  now fired back with a 25 yard run shaking off several Chieftain defenders along the way.  Two plays later Hamre ran
in for six more making it Arlington 19 Yutan 6.

With an Arlington kick off to the Chieftains the Eagle's defense was
unleashed again.  Tyler Kotrous and Nathan Korus helped Arlington rule the field.  An interception of a Yutan pass by Seth Pearson, and
his third touchdown run shortly thereafter clenched the Eagle's win,
third in an unbroken string of victories in League play  with a final score of Arlington 25 Yutan 6.  The Eagle Midget's next game will be played 2:00 PM Sunday September 24th at Arlington against
the Gretna Bears.
