Pee Wee Eagles Capture Saintly Win

The PeeWee Eagles football team opened the season with a well-earned 25 to 20 win over the Elkhorn Saints last Saturday morning.  Kyle Reinhardt put the first score of the game on the board with an exciting 40-yard run just minutes into the game.  Dayton Fox followed with a 20 yard punt to the Saints who were stopped in their tracks by Trey Baker and Colton Harper.  Although the second quarter found the Eagles behind by eight points, the team pulled together some outstanding plays.  Troy Thies started the Eagles push with an 18 yard run.  Matthew Ostrand followed as he blew past the Saints with a 42 yard run followed by a 20 yard touch down pass play to Britton Adams bringing the Eagles within a point of the Saints.  Kyle Reinhardt closed the second quarter with a 75-yard sprint for touchdown followed by Matthew Rasmussen's drive for the extra point.

Nick Mohon lead an outstanding series of offensive drives for the team during the third quarter, pushing in the final extra point for the game.  Britton Adams received a pass for a 25 yard gain in one of the last offensive plays of the game.  The defensive team worked hard throughout the game, giving it their all during the fourth quarter to keep the opponent silent.  Brad Thomas, Colton Harper and Sam Stark pushed the Saints back 20 yards across three consecutive plays.  Although Taylor Johnson was unable to play due to being injured, his support from the sidelines was greatly appreciated by his teammates.
