Pee Wee Eagles Lose to Yutan Chiefs
The Eagles kicked off the fourth game of the season by putting up a solid defense against a ten-minute drive by the Yutan Chiefs. The first quarter showcased the defensive linemen as they held the opponents to a goose egg. A number of those linemen pounding the Chiefs included Jared Becker, Brad Thomas, and J.D. Kauffman.
The second quarter saw the Chiefs put nineteen points on the board. Despite those scores, Eagle fans were treated to a twelve-yard lightening run by Kyle Reinhardt and a heart-stopping catch on the fifty-yard line by J.D. Kauffman. Matthew Rassmussen energized the third quarter with an eighteen yard run ending with half the Chiefs team working to drag him down. Kyle Reinhardt then passed to Nick Mohon for a twelve-yard gain and a first down. Despite these efforts the Chiefs scored again bringing the score to (25-0). Troy Theis broke the Chiefs stride by knocking down the ball on an extra point pass play.
The fourth quarter once again challenged the defensive line as they kept the Chiefs from scoring again. Matt Cory started the Eagle steamroller with a hard-hitting sack on a QB sneak. A few seconds later, the Chief quarter back was feeling the burn from Matthew Ostrand and Dylan Morgan as they blitzed in for the tackle. Brad Beck finished up the game by overpowering the Chief line and keeping them from scoring.
The next game for the Pee Wee Eagles will be against Valley on September 24th in Arlington at noon.
