The Arlington Juniors fell 24-6 to Gretna Saturday despite taking an early lead on the Eagles first possession.  Christopher Gorton took a handoff from Christian Vogt and carried the ball nearly 50 yards to put the Eagles on the board first.  But the lead was short lived as Gretna scored on their next possession.

The defensive line, lead by Trevor Koger, Aaron Doll, Michael Doll, Dylan Riecken and Tanner Smith prevented Gretna from running up the middle. Key tackles were also made by Logan Tate, Ross Miller, Jacob Korus, Jonathan Smailys and Noah Borgmann.  But a reverse play by Gretna late in the first half put the Gold up 12-6 at halftime.

Both Arlington and Gretna defensive squads held their own in the second half until early in the 4th quarter when another reverse play allowed Gretna to post another six points.  An Eagle drive led by Calen Kollars late in the 4th quarter came 1 yard short of a first down, allowing Gretna to take possession and with 3 seconds remaining in the game, put six more on Gretna ’s total.

The Junior Eagles host the Northwest Tigers on Sunday October 7th.
