It’s
the opening game at the
Arlington
stadium for the Midget team. In the second play of the game Cody Erickson
runs a
60 yard
touchdown for the Eagles to start out with a 6-0 lead against the Elkhorn
Steelers. Once the Steelers get the ball the Eagles take down the Steelers
tackle after tackle to send the Steelers into half time with a score of 0 and
the Eagles 6. In the second half of the game the Steelers come back and
score a
50 yard
touchdown on the Eagles to tie the game up 6-6. As the time runs out the
Eagles and Steelers go into over time with the Steelers getting the ball first
and the Eagles second. With only four tries the Steelers do not make a
touchdown. Now it’s the Eagles turn and once again Cody Erickson runs in
for the touchdown to end the game with a score of 12-6, Eagles win. Coach
Burianek says " the Eagles defense and offense did really well, they really
picked up the intensity when going into over time. Great job to Cory
Moravec, Cody Erickson and Nate Neary" The midgets next game
will be in
Arlington
on September 15 at
