ALLOWED TO WEAR THEIR GAME JERSEY OUTSIDE OF AYF FOOTBALL
FUNCTIONS.
That means that players should not wear their game jersey to
school, after-school functions, etc.
Laundering Instructions:
UNIFORM CLEANING
The care of the uniform has become an important issue to the AYF. Everyone is going to have to work together to maintain the uniforms we have. Your cooperation in this matter will be appreciated, since the league cannot afford to replace them every year.
NO CHLORINE BLEACH.
The jerseys and pants should never be washed in chlorine bleach. Some of the stains are hard to get out, but nothing stronger than stain-remover or pre-wash solutions should be used. As instructed they should be washed in COLD water this will help them from shrinking and fading.
Game jerseys should never be put in the dryer. Hang dry them on a hanger or drying rack.
Equipment purchased by Parents:
HELMETS: The AYF emphasizes the need for safety first, in both practice and games. No player will be allowed to play with a helmet that does not fit correctly or meet the requirements of the EVW Youth Football League, Inc. Every helmet must have the NOC-SAE marking on the helmet. Helmet accessories (pads, face guard (gray) and chin strap) are the responsibility of the parents. Helmets (white) can be purchased at Lou’s Sporting or Nebraska Sports in Fremont (indicate that you’re with AYF), Hauff Sports in Omaha (Randy Raether of Arlington), or any other sporting goods store.
SHOES and Socks: Molded sole shoes with non-removable cleats are legal provided the cleats, studs, or projections do not exceed 1/2" in length. These cleats or studs must be made of rubber or rubber type material that is non-abrasive and does not have, nor develop a cutting edge. Socks should be maroon.
ATHLETIC SUPPORTERS: male football players shall wear a good quality athletic supporter and cup.
EYEGLASSES: When worn, eyeglasses shall be of athletic-approved construction with non-shattering glass (safety glass), or contact lenses. This applies to cheerleaders as well as players.
